Calzaghe -vs- Hopkins official scorecard, as well as that of Boxing Chronicles!

OFFICIAL CALZAGHE vs HOPKINS SCORECARD

Listen ladies and gentlemen, I'm probably the biggest Hopkins supporter you will ever come across or meet, but I have to keep it real when I watch a fight. I love Hopkins, but when I see some people's scorecards that actually had Hopkins edging this fight out, I really have to question why. While it is clear that I do not have 20/20 vision, I can still view and analyze what's happening in a boxing match from round to round. This probably should've been a unanimous decision for Joe Calzaghe. I scored it 116-111, as did HBO's unofficial ringside judge Harold Lederman and one of the three official judges, so even if you gave a couple of the swing rounds to Hopkins, Calzaghe is still the winner by one point. That's the farthest you can stretch the scoring in Hopkins favor.

I am with you that Joe clearly won the fight with no doubt. BUT, I was really disappointed in Bernard because I feel he had the power to be the first man to TKO Joe and chose to do the cagey mambo instead of take what I perceive to be very little risk on the end of Joe's punching power. I'm not saying Joe's weak but his punching power just doesn't translate to that weight or Hopkins' chin. Hopkins could've risked very little and come out with all the glory. Bernard made the fight lousy. It could've been great. He only hurt himself...unless you count the knockdown on Joe.

Calzaghe had an off night and didn't fight a tactically smart fight and still beat B-Hop in the US and that's why he's a great champion.I had it 115-113 Calzaghe but was afraid he'd get robbed.I'm glad he didn't.B-Hop is upset coz he could've won the fight if he threw more but Calzaghe pressuring him even with light punches prevented him from doing so.
